Madhubani is an ancient art form with roots in Mithila, practised even today with much enthusiasm. This is breathtakingly alluring with its bright colours and specific designs. It’s roots can be traced back to mythological lores of Ramayana, easily recognised by the rich colour palettes and dominance of motifs inspired by nature and life events like weddings, celebrations and symbols of fertility and prosperity.
Practised even today by the women of Mithila, using fingers, powdered rice, twigs, leaves etc., using dyes from trees, fruits, flowers and spices, this precious knowledge continues to be passed on from generation to generation, delighting art lovers across the world.
Seen here on Pure Tussar, this gorgeous canvas is spectacular, a piece of heirloom to be cherished for ages!
